Hello everyone, welcome to today’s video review.
Today we’re unboxing a Tuya Smart USB Adapter Switch. It allows you to control USB-powered devices, such as mini fans, night lights, LED strips, etc. via your phones, as well as voice assistants like Alexa and Google Home.

The actual unit is much smaller than I expected. It feels very lightweight in the hand, almost “feather-like.” Even the user manual is just a small card, which gives the overall package a slightly “budget” feel.

On the top, there are two charging ports: A USB-A port and A Type-C port. Both ports can power devices simultaneously, and each supports independent smart on/off control. On the side, there’s a round physical button for manually turning the power on or off. Next to it is a tiny pinhole-style LED indicator, which shows the device’s network status through different colors or blinking patterns. The bottom is a USB-A male connector.

I’ve already installed the Smart Life app. Next, let’s add this USB Adapter Switch to the app, and connect it to Wi-Fi.

Connection successful.
Now let’s try turning on this USB ambient light.
At the top, there’s a master power switch that allows you to turn the entire adapter on or off with one tap. Switch 1 controls the Type-C output. Switch 2 controls the USB-A output. Both switches can be renamed.

The schedule lets you set specific automation times, such as turning the light on every day at 6:00 PM and off at 7:00 AM.

Timer is the countdown function, allowing you to set a fixed duration.
Astronomical automation triggers actions based on local sunrise and sunset times.

When Relay Status is enabled, the smart switch will automatically restore its previous on/off state after a power outage.

If you want voice control, you can enable it by authorizing Alexa or Google Assistant skills via Third-party Control. You can also add this USB Adapter Switch to Tap-to-Run and Automation scenes, for example, automatically turning on the lights when the light sensor detects sunset.

In summary, at first glance, the Tuya Smart USB Adapter Switch doesn’t exactly scream “premium,” but it has all the smart features you’d expect. You can control the USB-A and Type-C ports separately through the Smart Life app. It handles countdowns, timers, sunrise/sunset automation, and even remembers the power state after a blackout.
Plus, it works with Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control and fits right into the Tuya smart ecosystem.

If you just want a small, plug-and-play smart switch to control USB-powered devices like mood lights or a little fan, it’s practical and gets the job done. But if you’re picky about build quality, packaging, or design, this probably isn’t the one for you.
